With the possible Memorial Day sale, I'm looking into getting a dosing pump for my garage tank. I'm debating between these three; GHL 2.2 standalone, Red Sea ReefDose 4, or Reef Factory Pro X4. What are some pros and cons of those three? Heard the app is not great on GHL verse Red Sea and Reef Factory.

I’m not familiar with any of the above personally, but I hear that Reef Factory is going belly-up, and should be avoided!

The GHL 2.2 is on sale now to clear out inventory for the 3.0 coming in June. That is the only one I have used I do not have a stand alone since I have a P4 controller.

Agree with above Reef Factory is in bankruptcy and I would avoid.

A bit bothered by the upgrade price.. if I am being honest. $30 less than the full doser. I suppose I will just get 3 new dosers and sell the others, or put the on the shelf for spares.

I am not sure I understand. Upgrade is $199.90 right now and the EXT 3 is $479

I have had my Redsea Dose 2 for over a month now. I like it so far. The App is easy to use and dosing appears to be spot on. I had no issues connecting to wifi. Only issue i had was user error when it comes to running low indicator. I had a partially used container of my alk two part and just guessed the mls. When my made up number ran out it stopped pumping. I was picking up the container and thinking i was still good. So its more than a warning it acts on exact amount imputed. My fresh bottle has 1000mls so we are back on track. Total user error.

Thus far it has exceeded expectations. Can’t speak on longevity but have seen positive reviews on that.

Never mind - am a complete idiot

I confused the "regular price" for the upgrade with the Doser 3 price.

Worse, that would mean that I am naive enough to think that the entire doser was only $250

So I suppose I should order the upgrades now for $199 before I end up having to pay $250

I hit Vinny up. I see the pre-order in EU site, But no upgrade pre-order on US site unless I am missing it somewhere.

Thank you sir - I am batting 0-3 this evening.

For those of you who have the GHL, are you guys using the app or thru the computer?

Both and there are multiple ways when on the computer. Log in directly to the device with the IP address, access thru MyGHL and use GCC. This is for my P4 and lights I do not have a standalone doser but assume it is the same there.

I have GHL, ReefDose 4 and Kamoer, and I have used (and still am using) them for many years.

GHL - the build quality and reliability is top notch, but it has connectivity issues.

ReefDose - build quality is nice, but the internal tube is made of a material that does not support NaOH, and the programming logic is terrible - if you set a tracker (container capacity), it stops dosing when it’s empty, and when you reset it, it will try to overcompensate the missed dosage immediately. Not only that, it calculates the dosages based on total limit per day, meaning that if you switch to a higher potency for example, and set a new daily dosage to let’s say half of what it was - it would count what it already dosed for that day, and set the rest relatively to what’s left for that day. Unlike other dosing pumps where they simply take the total daily dose and split it to X numbers of even dosages across the day, regardless of what has already been dosed.

Kamoer - High build quality, logic that makes sense, good connectivity, readily available spare parts, and much cheaper when ordering from Ali express (straight from the manufacturer) - for me, it’s the perfect combination and what I would recommend others.

Also, as already been mentioned here, I would stay away from reef factory as they already filed for bankruptcy.
