I have a sps dominated tank and currently dosing ESV two part into my tank. I want to try experimenting with sodium hydroxide (lye) for the higher ph boost. Right now I’m doing between 25-30 ml a day of ESV two part. How much sodium hydroxide should I start with and how separate should I do it from ESV alkalinity. I plan on doing the sodium hydroxide by hand and continue using ESV two part on a doser

Use this recipe. 37 ml of the sodium hydroxide part matches 25 ml of the ESV alk part.

I can continue to dose both?

You will be double dosing alk if you do both. It’s just a high pH alk supplement.

Yeah I wanted to use it just as a nice ph buffer and to add some alk but not as much as I dose ESV alk just enough to at least produce 0.3-1 dkh a day

You can use this calculator and The entry for Randy’s Recipe 1 to determine the alk boost. I’d say, however, that a small alk boost gives only a very small pH boost.
