Upgraded from a BC14 about 4 months ago to a 57 gallon Deep Blue Edge. Love the tank but I find I don't have the proper amount of time for maintance that I thought I would. Had no problems with the 14 and that took all of about an hour a week. I've been looking at this IM Lagoon 25 AIO and think that it might be just what I'm looking for. Any thoughts and opinions, what would u do or any other options as I'm racking my brain trying to figure this out.

Thanks

You need to do what's best for you. If you can give your animals the best care in a smaller tank, then do so. Though, I've taken care of smaller tanks and they always required more work and attention IME. It was never difficult for me, but it did take more of my time every day then my larger tank does. Of course, on the smaller tank I never had a skimmer to clean which can take a little bit, then the larger water changes can take a little longer and I have to force myself to take the time to do it. But that's just my experience and there are trade offs for every tank size and every piece of equipment. Again, you gotta do what's best for you and your animals.

With my 14 I did weakly 5 gallon water changes and changed out filter floss twice a week and used chempure elite and changed it out every month. Was easy enough for me.

different strokes for different folks ya know? I say go for it if it's easier for you. ;)

So after tonight think I've made up my mind on down grading. What should have taking me an hour and a half of maintance took me almost 4. The wife and kids calling for this or that. Now I guess I need to sell old tank to get lagoon 25, transfer then sell this tank to buy new skimmer and reactor. Lots to do. Any thanks for listening.
