So i need to downsize my tank so that i can move it to another room while i take down the current tank and replace it with the upgrade(bigger). So my question is can i use a 20 gallon temporarily. My live stock includes 1 yellow tang, 1 coral beauty, 1 small percula clown, and 1 mandarin. Also various softies ,a couple shrimp ,clean up crew and 1 small urchin

Yes, you should able to. I've got that amount of fish in my 25g QT tank now.

Ok cool i have the extra 20 sitting around and its drilled so it will still have a sump. But i wasnt sure that that would have been to small for everything

As long as it is short term and you have plenty of filtration, you should be fine.
