Placed my first order with Dr Reefs a few months back. I actually completely forgot about it till I got the email my order was ready. I ordered 5 lyretail anthias (1 male), Midas blenny, a Halloween urchin, pack of trochus snails and a clown fish.

Upon arrival everything was packaged well and clearly labeled with instructions. The trochus snails which are shipped in a wet paper towel smelled bad but I decided to see if any of them made it. Unfortunately they were all dead upon arrival. I kept communication with Dr Reefs regarding the snails and the rest of my order. I was credited the snails on my next order, which I will be placing soon.

The fish all looked super healthy and active. They were on the smaller side which concerned me with my established tank. I used acclimation boxes, keeping the lyretails together and the blenny and clownfish together. I left them in acclimation boxes 4-5 days since my fish are much larger.

The clownfish and blenny were very active once in my tank and eating well. The lyretails were discolored and very dormant. I’ve come to find out this was normal. Dr reef sent me an extra lyretdil too! Stating they can be finicky shippers. By the next day all were very active and eating well. I ended up losing one female a few days later however I was at no loss since they supplied an extra!

It’s been a few weeks now and all the fish are out of acclimating boxes and thriving in my tank. I used to quarantine my own fish but I gotta say Dr Reefs is the way I’m going now. Super healthy animals, they always respond to my emails and their prices are very affordable for having your fish already quarantined. Anyone looking to order livestock online, I’d highly recommend Dr Reefs! Now time to start looking into my next order!

Thank you for your detailed feedback. Glad the lyretails made it ok and became active. They are shy and fragile sometimes so we send extra just in case and in your case it worked out.
