anyone else tried the Dr. Tim cyano recipe? Just watched the marine depot video on it over the weekend and I’m giving it shot. I’m on day 2 so I have nothing to report yet but curious if other members have used this to beat cyano?

Well I’m gonna hitchhike on your thread if you don’t mind. I was gonna ask if there was anything else on the market beside chemiclean.

I have a 125 gal tank that I cut in half after a drilling mishap and using it for a coral grow out tank. Well my lighting is 2 SB reef lights on each end and a AI hydra26 in the middle. Planning on changing them all to AI hydra26 when I have the money, but both sides that had the SB reef lights the Cyanobacteria started blooming. And slowly spread to the middle. Weird right. Not sure if the lights had anything to do with it.

Anyways now my entire tank has it and I’ve treated it with chemiclean stuff and it didn’t do crud for it. But maybe I didn’t use enough but I’ve heard not to use to much as if you over do it could be bad so idk.

So let us know how the dr Tim’s stuff works.

On a side note can I just do multiple water changes to drop the nutrients to help it also

Matt

Well I’m on day 4 and I don’t see any improvement it may even be getting a little worse. Marine depot cyano recipe is fake news I suppose, third time hitting the tank with chemi clean in a year isn’t a good thing

Did you complete the dosing regimen? If so how did it end up working out?
