Trying to find the best way to plumb a new sump, and the part that has me caught up is whether the drain into the sump should be vertical. Single drain, durso with 1 inch pvc. Which is quieter, vertical or angled?

also, for the elbows I’m thinking 45 degree elbows would be the best for reducing noise and overall pressure (not that there’s much on a drain). Is there any benefit to 45 elbows as opposed to 90?

Doesn't matter. I have one tank that is plumbed straight down. The other has a series of pvc 90's.
