Drill bit for rock scape

I used a metallic drill bit to make holes in rocks. I made them to use these thick acrylic rods in the holes and anchor the rocks together. Was this okay to do? Do I need to be worried about metal from the drill bit falling into the hole and contaminating the water? Thanks.

Just rinse them off good. Done it a few times, but used a masonry bit(still metal), still should be fine with a good rinse.
