Hello,

I'm in the process of setting up a reef tank, but right now I'm hoping to do without a sump because of space constraints. I could add a stump if really needed. Right now I have an HOB protein skimmer and HOB refugium. My question though, should I drill overflow holes to make installing a DYI stump easier. It's much easier to drill now when the tank is empty and I could cap the overflow holes. The tank is acrylic which I image is simple to drill?

Also if I was to drill what size hole and what location should I place it? Near the top at both corners?

Advice?

The size of the bulkheads are determined by what you want to put in. I reallly like Glass-Holes overflows. The kit comes with everything (for glass). For a 50 gallon tank, I'd recommend the 700 gph kit.
