Drill thru acrylic a thing?

I am thinking of drilling a hole into side of acrylic of my sump. Will it drill ok?
Want to get the hose from reef mat thru and up and around...

You can definitely drill through acrylic but it is different than drilling glass. Here is an old thread I posted asking for advice:

Use a step but if you can. I don't know how big of a hole you want. But step bits do a great job on acrylic
Agreed. Inoticed normal drill bits always crack acrylic from the pressure it takes to start the hole. Step bits have a nice initial hole boring ability due to the design.
