I wonder if we can just seed it by scraping it off from a tank where it’s already flourishing ?
Yeah, 100% you can. I live in a fairly rural area and dont have any local reefer friends, so i opted to go the bottle route.
You also get it from frag plugs and snails shells. Kinda hard to keep out in the long run, but seeding it gives a good jump start.

Ahh so when doing an upgrade it should be easy to seed from my previous tank
