I have some dry rock I want to start cycling ahead of my tank build. I am going to through the rock in some trash bins and get it cycled in adding different strands of bacteria to help minimize the ugly stage. I do not have my RODI unit yet. Is it safe to cycle the dry rock in the bins with well water or should I wait on the RODI unit?

I would wait for the rodi, otherwise you could be introducing other things to the rock that you don’t want like heavy metals. What is the tds on your well water
I dont know the tds of my well water

Well water is usually pretty nutrient rich. Go to the store and buy a couple 5 gallon jugs of distilled
