This will be my first official post on reef2reef even though I've been lurking for a long time on here.

A few months ago I saw the Innovative Marine Sale and couldnt resist, decide to go big with the tank that has my dream dimmensions: The 150 Gallon Lagoon EXT! Going to be upgrading my 2 years reefer 200xl.

Been gathering supplies on sale when I can since I placed the order all those months ago and after a long wait the tank arrived this morning.

Got the stand build, called some marine veteran buddys and the 4 of us got it all moved onto the stand easily. Definitely lost my trust in amazon suction cups but we planned for failures and had some straps supporting the tank slung on our shoulders just in case a cup failed. And 1 did! (Murphy's Law never fails). Luckuly redundancy saved us at the sacrifice of my poor back.

Current equipment list is looking like:
Tank: IM 150 Lagoon EXT
Lighting: 3x Radion XR30s
Sump: Synergy Reef RM 34
Return: Apex Cor20
Mechanical: ReefMat 500
Skimmer: RSK 300
Bashsea Carbon Reactor
Coralife UV sterilizer
Flow: 2x Nero 3, 1x Ai Orbit 2x, 1x Icecap 2k gyre, 1x Icecap 4k gyre
Going to be running the tank off an Apex with alk ca and mg testing done by the Trident

Starting working on the aquascape, made use of the Styrofoam that came with the box to have a template of the tank footprint to work on.

Still need to figure out how to incorporate the rock from the old tank but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

Been a while since I did an update, finnally got some free time between school and work this past week and manages to get quite a bit done so here we are:

I think I managed to do a half decent job under the stand with the sump and plumbing, atleast decent enough for a amateur like me haha.

Gotta thank Synergy Reef for all the help with the Sump after UPS broke the first one then of course a snowstorm delayed the replacement because thats just my like. Despite all that they delivered and I am very happy with the results

Managed to somewhat make all the controllers and wires look newt and organized, Used a cheap stand from walmart and a some cut up shelves to make a controller cabinet and I think it turned out all right, does the job and looks nice.

Tank move went as smooth as I could manage, no casualties or ammonia spikes thankfully, just some wet towels and alot of mopping afterword haha.

Had a lot of hair algae growth in the time I had the tank with just rock water and snails in it, the tangs, foxface and blenny have waten almost half of it in less than 2 days thougj so I dont expect that buffet of theirs to last much longer.

All in all, very satisfied so far and ready to start adding more corals from my overcrowded frag tank in the next coming weeks

I’m about 30 minutes from niles? What LFS do you go to? I have been going to cleveland aquatic gems in solon since they opened.
My local go to is Extreme Tropical Pets ( the only have fresh and saltwater only) in Boardman. Great selection, prices and very knowledgeable owners who have been in this business for decades. Their tanks are pristine.I try to purchase as much as I can from them, I don’t want them going anywhere. Anything I need and they don’t have they order for me. I work in Solon, I stopped in Aquatic Gems, the owner was very nice but there wasn’t a tank without aptasia.

yeah it was pretty bad for a few visits. I think he was pretty overwhelmed when he first started. He literally had one tank that he called an aptasia garden. He keeps up with them much better now. I'm gonna stop mucking up this guys build thread though with stuff he doesn't care about lol. With that being said, if I get another tank, it will likely be the IM 150. I like that the dimensions are different than what you would normally find.
