I just added 2 Ducans to my DT about a week ago and 1 has been closed for a couple of days. I had both in a small QT tank for about 45 days and they looked good when I added them to my DT. I'm not very experienced keeping coral and wonder if I should move it to a different spot. It's 3 heads right now and the other one is 3 heads also. I also have an Euphyllia in the tank that's been in there for months and has doubled in size so thinking my water is ok.

They don’t like a lot of light or a lot of flow. Particularly laminar flow. They do like to eat.

I’ve also noticed that when my dosing pump stopped working and my Mag dropped, my Duncan’s didn’t like it and closed up.

I would try moving it to a different spot, it likes to wave back and forth in the flow.

Its adaptable to different lighting IME, I used to keep mine directly under metal halide and it grew like a weed.

Of course we're just guessing, pictures really help.

I really upset mine earlier this year when I upgraded my tank. They showed just enough signs of life that I knew they weren't dead. They continued that way for about 2 months. The past 6-8 weeks they've been opening to about 40% of what used to be normal. Hopefully the trend continues.
