I know, another Durso question right!!
Has anyone ever tried to modify a Durso stand pipe with a T so that you could add an emergency should the main drain get blocked?
I was thinking about placing a T section on the stand pipe and creating an emergency drain maybe a half to one inch above the main drain. Granted, this emergency is still part of the "only" stand pipe, but would serve as an alternate should the main get blocked.
Was thinking that I might even be able to place another couple elbows and push it with an extension so the backup drain would still be submerged (not taking any water) to prevent too much venting.
My understanding of the Durso is that it's major setback is no emergency/secondary drain for backup. This would at least get me in the neighborhood of an alternate should the main get blocked by something...
Does anyone know if this has been tried or even necessary??? Thoughts?
