I’ve always had durso tanks, but my new frag tank has 2 drains, was considering a herbie set up. Is there any trick to it? Are there two separate pipes the whole way or do they Y into 1 at the sump?
There are two the whole way. First is your main siphon which is tuned with a valve. Gate valve preferred. The second is your overflow which is wide open all the way to the sump.

Imo I get rid of durso every chance I have. Herbie are quiet and easy to maintain

Okay cool, that’s great to know. Never tried one. Probably gonna hate my main tank after if you say that haha
