I've got a tank with a Dwarf fuzzy lion and maybe a convict goby (if the lion didn't eat it).

I've been trying to look into tank mates for the lion and can't really decide on anything. I've seen lion fish eat other lion fish so I'm scared to go that route...I wanted a frogfish or an angler but I'm afraid they'll eat the lion..

A guy at a LFS today told me that a trigger may be a good idea....I was under the impression that a trigger may screw with corals and this is a frag tank (46 gallon bowfront).

Any suggestions on something that could go along with a dwarf fuzzy lion and not get eaten or eat the lion + go with coral and snails?

Ive also read were triggers will pick at lionfishes fins, so will regular angels and then the fins get infected and the fish dies...i dont think the lamarks will pick because it isnt a picker

Yeah, he was saying that triggers may pick on the fins.

The angel would be far too big for a 46 gallon tank--no?

this is exactly why I went a non agro tank I would be in your boat going back and forth.

lol yeah, I've got a peaceful reef tank..but I wanted something different.

Honestly, the dwarf lion is the coolest fish I've ever had....sooooo much personality.

Yes the angel and sailfin would both be far too big for that tank. Not sure why KLR is suggesting fish like that other than he didn't see that it is a 46g tank.

You don't have much of a choice for tankmates with that small of a tank and a dwarf lion. Unfortunately you would be better off removing the lion if you want some fish diversity.

Yea.i had a dwarf lion, they are neat!..then the tank really did crash

I think the lamark gets 9 inches

The desar. tang gets bigger than that.. i thought they were smaller my mistake....

A foxface rabbitfish gets 9 inches also and is a neat fish

But 9 inches may be to big

The dwarf gets around 7in.

Yeah...hmm... don't want to get a fish that needs to swim :( thanks for the try...

Maybe I'll think about another dwarf or maybe I'll let the dwarf grow a bit and then get a frogfish down the line (frogfish are so friggin cool)

They are!

Might want to read up on frogfish..because some weird things can kill/hurt them

I read that dwarf frogs even if they cant eat a lion fish they might try and kill both themselves and the lion

Also if they are taken out of the water they can get an air bubble in their stomach which will slowly kill them
