Ecotech Vectra M1 coupling

I have just got my hands on a Vectra M1,
Previous guy who owned it had it about 3 months then closed his system down.

Problem I have is has bought the barb and screen kit and has used poly cement to fix the barb into the original blue collar.

I am wanting to hard pipe a fixed pipe as on outlet from the pump, as I think the barb restricts the flow quite a bit.

Hoping to take a 32mm pipe straight out of the pump.

Has any one on here ordered one of these?

If so I'm interested to what you actually receive in the kit, is it just the screw collar fitting or the insert as well? I think there is one shop in the UK that stock them but before I order I want to just make sure.

Also if there are any owners on the Vectra pumps with hard piping, could you guys post some pics on how you have done it?

I bought the sch.40 adaptor kit from BRS. The vectra series uses British tapered thread, so the adaptor kit is essential for hard plumbing. The blue collars don't give you much room to glue/epoxy hard fittings. Also, the adaptor kit gives you 1" lines or is it 1 1/4"?

I'll try to get a current pic, but this was my initial setup.

The pump came with a collar on the inlet and outlet originally. You should have an extra. Those in the link are official ecotech, but not showing the insert that the collar tightens against.

it did come with one but the last guy cemented the bard into the collar, that's my problem I need another collar so I can cement a piece of pipe in there, or falling that I just cement a pipe to the actual blue collar

I would get the blue eco tech collar and insert so you can take it apart easily to clean the pump. Using the white pvc fitting, you'll need a union or a check valve union to get the pump out of the sump for maintenance.

So the kit in the original post ? do you read it as including the screw thread collar and the insert?

It says it includes both pieces, but only shows the collar. If you are in the U.K., check out "Advanced fluid systems", they have so many fittings and occasionally I have to buy from them off Ebay when I can't find the perfect fitting in the U.S.. They won't have a blue one, but something you can take apart I'm sure.

I Have ordered one of the official kits, if it doesn't come with the collar I will just return it,

This! I plumbed my return(s) with 1" pipe and reduced to 3/4" right at the bulkhead in the display to maximize flow as much as possible. Like ca1ore mentioned, the blue collars restrict flow right at the pump. I use a check valve right after the pump, so cleaning is a matter of unscrewing the bottom part of the check valve and lifting the pump out, done. I'll take a pic in the morning when the lights are on to show you how it's all connected.

I just used a 1 1/4" (i think that's the size) PVC screw on adapter from home Depot to attach my M1 to my return plumbing, and use a reducing bushing to shrink it down to 3/4". It doesn't screw on all the way, but screws on just enough and works fine.
