many teenage nights spent listening to van halen. Indeed I wonder what happed to all the rock bands... Died of throat cancer not much of a surprise, dude was always chain smoking.

Eruption is the most visceral guitar solo/intro ever recorded and probably one of the most influential moments in rock history. It spawned countless generations of up and coming guitar players, myself included, although Page is my first inspiration, Eddie holds a unique place in the evolution of music, but most importantly, the evolution of guitar playing. His unique style was completely his own and he is among so few players who will always be remembered as a legend. RIP EVH

Good Rokers … Like Eddie … have passed … but Rock-N-Roll lives on.
Hmm … wondering what is running through Keith Richards veins?!?!

An amazing musician, RIP! Spent a lot of hours trying to learn his tapping technique when I first picked up a guitar, thought that was the coolest thing ever.

When he was a kid he was into drums and his brother the guitar, his brother wanted the drums so bad and was better with them that Eddie wanted to please his brother so he gave him the drums and took the guitar, the rest is history. RIP Eddie!

VanHalen hit the scene big in the late 70's when rock bands gave a crap and could call themselves musicians. We had good albums from start to finish with none of the one hit wonder junk that started in the 80's.

Not only were Eddy and Alex really talented, they had enough creative stamina to produce several solid albums that were all a bit different and also a heck of a lot of fun. Funny how VanHalen and Sammy Hagar fans would argue about the best guitar licks, and then VanHalen became Van-Hagar. Some people hate 5150, but I love it.

When we were teens we would drive around town in my friend's 71 camaro with windows rolled down blasting 'Intruder' at red lights. Senior citizens out for a sunday drive looked at us like we were minions invading from hell, but we loved it.

We've lost Eddy V and Neil Peart in the same year. This is not cool.

Just wanted to share with everyone some of my more interesting pieces of Rock ‘n Roll memorabilia. Matching Eddie Van Halen / Valerie Van Halen (Bertinelli) signed bank checks, off their “Van Halen Household Account.” Peace.

First Neil Peart, and now this.

*sigh* :confused::(

He's reason I took guitar lessons in HS.
