Wasn’t Saltpetre or potassium nitrate once administered to federal inmates to reduce the sexual desire between them ?
I heard the same thing when I was a kid but maybe not true?

Because they say they do not add nitrate. The whole nitrate discussion is a red herring. Nitrate is a very minor component of seawater and potassium nitrate is not even what would precipitate from drying seawater that containing nitrate.
Thank you!

I believe I read somewhere it’s either not true or no one could find proof . I was beginning to think this is why breeding saltwater fish was harder compared to freshwater

What is this "sexual desire" thing you speak of? I'm pretty sure none of the good people on R2R have ever heard of or experienced such a thing. And certainly not between men!
