I want to create an egg crate type top for my tank, but I can't find non-metal frames for it. I don't care if it is actual egg crate, or something else, I just want an open type top. It is just a small 30 gallon rectangular tank. What has everyone else done? Thanks.

why does it need a frame?
Anyway what a lot of us do is use window screen with window frame...
BRS sells all the stuff you need, even clear window screen I think

You can just use a set of lid clips and cut the egg crate to size. Egg crate sits right on top. Easy on and off.
