Hi everyone! I apologize in advance this might seem like a stupid question.

I just purchased a Eheim Compacton 3000 in hopes of using it as a return pump. How do I connect this to my union?

Right now, the only way I can think of making this work is to use the threaded connector that comes with the pump (only one side is threaded), connect a very short hose to the eheim connector attachment, connect the other end of the small hose onto another hose barb with slip connector, then bond a pipe to the hose barb and then FINALLY attach to the union? Is there a shortcut I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

Unless they're interchangeable???
You have to use the barbed fitting that's on the top side of your Eheim 3000, that's the pump's output.

Can you post some shots to let us see what you're trying to plumb your pump into?

Yes. A hose to a barb screw in fitting you can do. Just need to attach the correct size pvc screw on adapter.
You need to run the hose under hot water under the sink to soften it up to press squeeze it on the barb.
