I might have gone to public school, but I’m not an idiot. Day 1 of my 20G nano, I set the temp at 78 degrees & reading showed 80.6 after several hours so I thought ok, need to calibrate it. 6-7x later, I’ve yet to get lower than 86 degrees, what the heck am I doing wrong? I’ve watched 3-4 videos, read countless articles, I get it. But if the red arrow allows it move 8 degrees, my temperature setting is 78 but is reading 90, how am I supposed to move the red arrow to 90 if it’s already at the 8 degree max? I’ve included two pics for visuals.

I even tried from scratch, set the red arrow in the middle of the allowed 8 degree variance & blue dial at 78, temp measured 88 degrees in 1 gallon bucket. Ok, move the red arrow to 88 & reset dial for 78.. right? Wrong, the temp went to 90.

Seriously thinking of buying a new one & then returning this one as defective.

Had same issue with my Jagers. I ended up just ignoring the temp on the unit, instead setting the correct temp using a thermometer. They have been rock solid ever since. A bit annoying, but easy enough to work around.

true.. if anything I know mine will hold steady at a temperature, so far the wrong one. Trial & error I guess.

I care more about stability after its dialed in than the little seemingly arbitrary markings on the heater itself. Despite the calibration issue, I'd purchase them again.
