Elegance coral on the move?

I just picked up a new elegance coral and placed it in the sand bed, when I got home from work the next day it was under a pile of rocks in a tight crevice, so I moved the rocks got it out and put it back. Then I came home today it was back in the same place.

Can they move themselves and is it ok under a pile of rocks?

Heard of fungia moving but not elegance. Is current moving it or maybe a fish? Can you take picture?

I placed it in the lowest flow area in the tank, I thought it might be my pistol shrimp but the coral base is 2"x 3" and that seems pretty big for a shrimp to drag.

Pistol shrimp are pretty strong. The coral is too heavy for flow to move it. Since it can not see, the chances of it moving into the exact same spot in a cave, if is had the ability to. Would be very unlikely. My money is on the pistol shrimp. I got rid of mine as well as a jaw fish for that reason.

I am going to move it back and set up my go pro and see what happens.

It's a stony coral so it won't move on its own.. It needs lots of light so being under a rock won't work for overall long term health

they can inflate or puff up then allow current to move them that is what they do in nature. What type of elegance is it. my experience is they like darkness. but i keep mine away from rock so its tissue does not get scratched.
