Montipora caps that I've somehow kept alive for months...
I'm having an existential crisis. I think they might be upside down. How can you tell which is the top?

I know this almost seems like rage bait.

Thank you I now realized I duplicate posted images. I'm basically an idiot.

I need to glue these down.

I have 2.

Just to be clear

The underside is whitish/grey smooth and the top is bright red and very rocky/ textured.

I'm dumb.

It's a legit question! You are holding it right. Just make sure the red side is up, and you will be fine!

In time if left upside down, they can start developing polyps and color on the other side while the original up side turns white.

@chillout-reefer-dave you're not dumb, proven by asking questions instead of not. Don’t be afraid to ask any question you have here. This isn’t FB and you’re going to get real answers and not bash threads.

So I’ll Welcome you to Reef2Reef, the greatest community out of water!

As mentioned above, yes you’re doing it right.

Thank you guys so much!
I literally waited weeks to ask this because I thought I should be able to figure it out.

Now I don't have to stress any more.

Also, how in the heck have I kept an SPS alive with so, so many mistakes? I'm guessing this monti cap is very forgiving (it must be).

Very. Montis - most any variety - are good, easy SPS. Some are very aggressive growers though so be careful. Caps are easy to keep trimmed back. Same with Digitatas. Encrusting varieties - give them room to spread because they'll eventually take over that whole rock if given freedom.
