You can try. However, i would make sure i could return the newer clown if rejected by the older clown.

Ultimately, thats up to you to decide.

Stewy, your LFS is not being straight with you. Your tank 1/3 the size you’d need for a 6 line wrasse. A clown fish is going to claim that whole 10 gallons for itself. You may never be able to safely add another fish. The clown likely killed or injured the goby and the crab finished it off.
Please don’t let them talk you into anymore fish. They have given you really bad advice for both the fish and your wallet.

That lfs is great for coral tho! Very trusty and straightforward with coral, only coraL that died from them is a monti cuz I can’t keep plating coral, but I can keep a fudging tort acro

Your tank looks very sparse, just one rock... also I don't see a powerhead and you mentioned oxygen issues but I do see an air stone... it is likely the coral may need more flow than an air stone as they grow. I see it is an AIO but I assume the pump in the back chamber is weak if you needed an air stone.

You may want to use your money on getting the set up dialed in properly instead of fish. Fish will always be around.

A small controllable powerhead and maybe a bit more rock to provide more biological filtration and more coral placement. Everything seems fairly squished together and coral does sting once it grows near its neighbor.

I do have a powerhead, but it is too powerful, the flow in the tank is enough, the reason that I had no oxygen was because I was dosing chemiclean and thought it was done after a couple of days, but nooo, dumb me...

Well something is wrong if fish keep dying and you're struggling with algea/ coral issues. Accepting that fact may make the advice given here more palatable for you. And remember, lfs can have all the great livestock in the world but is worthless if they guide you in the wrong direction. Easy solution- go there for livestock and supplies, not advice. They are obviously putting their earnings over the wellbeing of your tank. Doesn't mean you have to stop going there, just go there already knowing what you want. Or search their recommendations, right there in the store, before purchasing

From your previous posts it looks like you’ve tried adding clowns and they keep dying? If so chances are your existing clown has claimed the tank and isn’t accepting roommates - expect it to either harass new additions until they die of stress/starvation, or just straight up kill them. A lot of tropical marine fish are surprisingly territorial for their size, and clowns are no exception. The relatively small and often crowded holding tanks you see in LFS are strictly temporary and are viable only for a short term - and even in that short term the LFS is racing against the clock to sell them as long durations in smaller tanks results in a high mortality rate.

Another observation - your current setup has very minimal rock. Many reef fish crave hiding spots. Lack of caves and other bolt holes for them to retreat to when they’re feeling stressed can be catastrophically detrimental to their health. Stress management is one of the biggest challenges for keeping healthy reef fish - if reef fish stay stressed many either stop eating, become prone to disease, or may just go belly up. IOW - your clown needs somewhere to hide.

For future reference if you get a bigger tank and start adding fish - here’s a resource of fish that are either flatly not recommended due to poor survival rates or have significant or complex needs so are poor choices for anyone other than experts.

The exception for some of these are captive bred fish, where they are raised on pellet food so can be reasonably expected to eat prepared food in your tank, but even then you need to ensure space, territory, and habitat needs are being met.

same issue with my planted tank
but if I get a new tank, imma put fish into it in this order: goby, wrasse, THEN CLOWNS

Twin spot gobies are hard. They are rarely successful for long. The thing to keep in mind is that your LFS is in business to stay in business. Don't ask "Can I do this?" because the answer will often be rounded to yes if the real answer is anything on positive side of "maybe." Instead ask for a little more in-depth. I have a 32 cube... I asked about a twin spot at my LFS, and he said "sure, it'd probably do alright." See the ambiguity? I asked a little further, "I've heard they can be tough," etc, and then I got the real answer, which is "I wouldn't recommend it." We all get the bug, but try not to let your excitement (because twin spots really are cool) get the better of you.

Stewy - listen to what the people on this forum are telling you. We are trying to help you. 10 gallons is a tiny tank. Your clownfish owns every inch of it. If you add anymore fish, the clown will most likely kill it.

10 gallons is very small for any more than like 1- 3 small fish, i agree with the others that the establish clown has definitely taken the entire tank as its territory.

ik, im saying one day maybe(did I say that, idk anymore)but since there are WAY WAY more hiding spots, and I could acclimate the clown to the fish by putting the fish I an acclimation box for a while
