You think Emerald crabs will venture way up into strong current & light to eat bubble algae?

I would say that they are in my tank. I only really see them when the lights are off or occasionally when I feed. IME they're not merciless killers of fish but I have caught mine tearing apart a halloween hermit and they're very strong for their size which means your smaller rock work will get shoved around if it's loose.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
