I got a freak nasty monti cap last week, I went a little heavy on the super glue so I thought it was maybe that. That might I noticed some white fuzz lifting off the cap near the polyps...didn't think much of it. Continually every night it seems to do it more and more. Looked into it and I've seen it could be bleaching or doing something else. Last night I looked and it had spread over a significant amount of the cap. Water parameters are all decent, just did a water change two days ago.

Does anyone have any clue what this is??

Does it blow off with a turkey baster?
How did you acclimate to the tank/lights?
It will move off with some effort but it's generally stuck.

I floated for 30min, water dripped for 15-30. Transferred to tank at night when power is less than 10%

Attached is a photo of it currently during the day

Lfs is completely stumped, to our knowledge monticaps don't have sweeper tents...so...

Did you figure out what this is? Just commenting out of curiosity. Could it be that the monti grew over vermetid snails that have some tubes in between the Montipora and is releasing snot webs, seems like a possibility if you can blow it off with some effort with a turkey baster.

Ya, well idk if it was the original cause, but I had monti eating nudibranch in my tank that ended up wiping it out

Ouch. So then it was mesenteric filaments as it was trying to fight off being eaten.
