Idk how to tag emergency yet I’m dumb

58881D56-9D35-49F8-A888-228BDD573788.jpeg

How do I get my hell child out- he jumped into the back and swam UNDER my bio media, I was able to trap him in another tube- I can’t find any utensils long enough to reach to the bottom, I haven’t gotten any yet :loudly-crying-face:

I tried to suction out the water and force him up but it didn’t work; please help

I have borrowed time, all my bacteria media is in a bucket 10- colder than the tank any ideas??? If I let him out of the tube he wedges himself under the glass bottom lip

Get a small 2 or 3" net and bend it into a curve and trap against panel and scoop. Other would be a plastic soup strainer and again get fish against wall panel and bring it up to top and scoop

That opening is a Whole 2” I can’t even get two fingers down that tube- it’s a great idea though :loudly-crying-face:

Okay- I might run to Walmart and get a tiny net to bend— try to block the opening and let him swim in… I honestly don’t even know if a bent net would fit in the back but I’m willing to try ANYTHING at this point

Is this an AIO? I had this happen and used a piece of acrylic to block the IM chamber and reached in and carefully removed my fish by hand. This basically trapped him in the first chamber without being able to swim under the next area.

It is!!! A 7.1 Tideline. I tried sticking my hand down there, (I’m only 5’2 so I’m tiny…) and I couldn’t even get past my thumb.

Can’t get your hand in there even without the tube?

Nope!!! :face-with-spiral-eyes: it’s kind of awful. I should’ve gone with a 13 or something larger.

Do you think my bacteria media will survive in the temperature change of 10 degrees?? They’re sitting in a pale too shallow for water…

Yes, bacteria are very resilient, flow would help though if they have to stay there more than a day. Even just an air stone.

Temp isn’t much of a concern as stagnant water.

He got in. He will find his way out.

Well; the problem is I don’t want the way out to be Into my return pump on one side and get turned into shredded sushi, or into my heater and get roasted sushi on the other side :loudly-crying-face:

Or— onto my floor somehow. :face-with-spiral-eyes:

If you can’t find something in the pet area, try the actual strainers for food and tea. They are usually stainless. Can tape something too it to make the handle longer.

I know I have a small circular stainless strainer that would probably work. Would just have to bend or break off the handle and add a new one

I had to break the next and refit it to the compartment. I got the wrasse- got him to the surface, and then he went over to my heater apartment. It has taken me 3 hours.

Getting over a panic attack and going to remove the heater and try again.

Not like I have to work soon or anything.
