Not sure what region my first imp came from? I do know the African ones are much larger before changing to an adult than the others

That’s an interesting tidbit about African ones transitioning at a larger size. Not sure what region my first imp came from? I do know the African ones are much larger before changing to an adult than the others

Good looking Emperor and tank you have there!
Appears to be an Emp safe tank, mostly sps.
Any corals that you have in danger? (Are those Pulsing Xenia?)
Did you name him/her?
What do you like most about your Emp?
Thanks for sharing.
His mask is beautiful! More pics please.
I can't see the video.thanks you can see him in and out of this video, I’ll try to take better pics later
what a win win situation
First picture dec 2018, next april 2020.
eat pest anemone, no corals so far.
Question for all of you knowledgeable Emperor owners out there:
I currently have mine in a 6-foot FOWLR with a few other fish. However I was toying with the idea of putting him in his own ‘pet’ tank, just to enjoy his solo beauty. Maybe a 36 x 36 x 36 cube (230 gallons— 190 actual), or a 30 x 48 x 30 ((210 gallons— 175 actual).
When I mentioned to my LFS guru that the fish’s swim-pattern seemsrather slow and graceful, he said filtration would be a factor (even more of a factor than swim space/stress). I would seek to have a very large sump and good flow/water turnover/skimming, etc.
What do you all think about the fish’s happiness as the sole inhabitant of a 36” cube or the 48”? Thanks!
Does this handsome imp have a name? Is it an easy keeper or a trouble maker?

All my imperators have been free swimmers, not like their blueface cousins that like to stick to the rocks. For an adult you need 6+ feet.
