Well, I have added the last of the planned corals to my tank today. kind of a weird feeling entering "grow out" mode, but excited to see what happens. To those of you that reached this point, how hard was the adjustment to stop thinking in terms of "well this could fit here" and just move into doing maintenance?

Boring mode. (Weird feeling absolutely)
Maybe some gentle pest could entertain... lol

Yes, never thought about it in terms of done adding corals because always can seem to fit something in. However, like where I’m at because every addition has the potential of adding a pest! So it’s a relief of sorts…

I've got a shallow reef so I am afraid to add any more until stuff grows out some because I'm likely going to shadow the crap out of stuff if I'm not careful

Yes, I’m trimming stuff now because of shading. Had to trim a birds nest and a branching Monti because it was covering a clam. Stuff is growing together in some places and touching; trimming some and leaving some be to see what happens?

I am in grow out mode, except one piece. There's 2 reasons, first it's a 6 gallon tank, second I planned what I wanted to add in advance.
Luckily I do have the luxury of another tank to move any corals to if needed.
Grow out mode to me means tweaking dosing and equipment.
The long game is painful. I know I am looking at a year. I am also looking at another tank. :)
