ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

HelloReef 15 Gallon GloFish aquarium arrived today. I think it's going to be my new work tank.

Since tomorrow is a work from home day (at least until around 10 when I go to work for a lunch and learn) it probably won't get set up until tomorrow afternoon between the lunch and learn and interviews. Maybe it'll have to wait until Monday. Who knows.

Placed my TSA order.

Some of these will likely end up in the 8 and maybe the 6.

hi! We won a 70 mariner from our LFS this past summer and we are just finally getting it ready for launch. Would you mind sharing how you used the sump compartments? There is limited space down there and we are looking for ideas and recommendations. I assume what you went with is somewhere in this thread but at 131 pages it has been lost to time

Also Phyto is plugging along nicely.

I think bottle #1 is ready to cut again. Bottle #2 was cut last week and is a nice bright green.

That is a nice little tank!
It's the HelloReef GloFish. It comes with an AI Blade so I'm trying to decide if I set it up as a saltwater tank or freshwater. I'm leaning freshwater since I'm only at work 3 days a week.

No moss but it came with several fake plants and 2 spider wood roots. Brought those home to soak. I'm not sure I'm going to use the fake plants.

Happy tank, happy potato.

I couldn't think of anything that A) rhymed with "tank"; and 2) made sense. So, you get a non-sequitor. Thank @JoJosReef, he started it.
Happy tank, happy bank as in the bank itself. You now owe them a lot of money

Somehow I missed this post!

So my sump is not at all used conventionally... I have replaced the socks with filter baskets for PolyFil with a Green Machine UV under those, and my skimmer/Fuge section houses 6 Joker Bubble Anemones and a pair of Clowns.

What are you wanting to do in your sump? Skimmer? Fuge with Macroalgae? Cryptic zone with rocks and sponges/filter feeders?

Socks work but they can be a pain to keep from plugging up and overflowing so filter floss or PolyFil is typically one of the first updates I make to my sumps. I don't run a skimmer because I have bottomed out nutrients too many times causing problems. I like the UV because Dinos happen. BTAs in my sump keep them from traversing my Display Tank.

Going in big on the encrusters! This should be interesting!
Yeah! I think 2 of the Montis are plating but I've been wanting Lithos for a bit. Megachrome I think plates and encrusts. My wife wants Zoas so I picked some pretty ones. I'm thinking in the 8 gallon I'll put a few of the Zoas and probably the Gracilaria.

It's set for delivery a week from today.

And I used to have a PPE Cyphastrea back in my old 70 that crashed from the magnet leaching so that's a replacement.
