Fragged a few more Birdsnest (on purpose this time) because a local reached out wanting some.

The little fork was an accident. The other 4 were on purpose. Horrible pictures. No filter, semi-dirty glass, blah blah blah.

Printed an orange frag rack the other day - it glows WAY too much. I remodeled a little and made the frag plug holes slightly larger - now it works! I also made it 12 frags instead of only 8 and printed it in crystal instead of orange.

Looks like you've got that printer really dialed in. Very clean.

I don't really like the glowing mounts/racks. They grab more attention than the coral on them. I think it's one of the main reasons I never got any frag racks before. They are just distracting.

Looks cleaner than it is. The first layer is good, the top layer can be a bit rough but I have ironing turned off. The legs have some stringing between them but significantly reduced after turning off z-hop.

I need to dial in the retraction settings some more I think but every retraction tower I print makes it look like 3 mm and 40 is the speed and length to use but then I print with 3 and 40 and it's worse than what the tower has. 😂

I like My ESHOPPS frag rack. It's orange but it had black top and bottom so the only orange is basically a stripe along the side and front.

If you ever decide you need frag racks you may want to check out Aqua Rocks. I have three of their racks in my tank. I don't need them as frag racks, I just use them as ledges on the back wall of the tank to provide 'safe' swim lanes for the fish but they look very realistic once in the tank and are high quality. @Anna K has a couple of their frag rocks on her sandbed and @VintageReefer has a bunch of them in his tank as well.

PETG is really sticky stuff. It's hard to get really clean prints with posts, no matter what the towers tell us.

I ordered some coral plug rock holders lasts night from @Printed Reef to give them a shot as well. It's probably be a lot easier for me instead of gluing because every time I whip out that super glue I glue some part of my body to something else.. I like that the plug holders go into crevices' of already existing rocks. That's why I'm giving them a shot.

I also have an ESHOPPS and it is a good rack. I usually pop it in when I need to do some rearrangement or temporary frag moves but I don't like anything in the tank that 'pops' other than the inhabitants. My little frag stands are black because I usually leave them in much longer than I originally intend to leave them in and I want them to blend in as much as possible.

The ones from Printed Reef do look very clever and I may try them at some point. Looking forward to seeing how they work out in your tank.

That's why I decided on Crystal for the most recent frag rack. I'm going to toss the orange one. The crystal will blend more with the sand and rock than a black one will I was assuming.

Getting ready to print a modified hanging one in black for the 8 gallon likely tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. I'm going to do 3 pieces and attach with Weldon.

I may pick up some crystal PETG next time I order filament and give it a try. It will be a while though as I kind of blew my budget on the PET-CF but I wanted to give it a try for non-in-tank structural pieces and it seems, so far, to work really well for that use case.

I would be far more interested in crystal. Another thing I might do, is grab some loose rock and set some molds to hold frag plugs. I got a nice antler, that could make up for 12 frags. But. I don't really have a lot of coral plans right now.

I just need my new shrooms to grow, and torches to split their flesh. I will go from there when that happens. My golden has around 12 heads in the making. All 1 flesh band tied together. I do not like cutting flesh. No no.

Acros are far far away from getting fragged. Although a nice lil bump can cause a small piece to break off.

You know what. I don't even think I have frag plugs now... :(

I second aquarocks, I have a number of theirs that I just haven't installed in the new tank yet. Love the individuals as well.

10 days in on Flux treatment. Siphoned some chunky chunks of GHA out. Most of what's left is small, manageable spots.

I'll probably grab some more CUC in a couple of days to help out(almost grabbed an Urchin today).

LFS offered me store credit for a dozen of my Strats, so that's a big pile of snails and hermits if it's all I buy. 😂 I'll probably grab a Hector's or Rainford for the 8 gallon, some snails and hermits for the 70, and maybe a new filter for the 110.

Iodine dipped the Favias today. They're both receding and not looking healthy. The only corals in the tank that are suffering...
