Ok serious for a moment here. I need opinions. I plan to re-enter with a nano in the next month. Due to living space constraints it’ll be no larger than 15 gallons I think. Livestock planned is a couple clowns and maybe one or two other nano sized fish plus a smattering of of maybe lps. Is it worth it to get say a Fluval Evo or go and do IM 15 Gal starter kit? All things aside I know I’d prefer to do the IM but budget is a big part of my thinking here but also will I be able to grow say frogspawn/gonis/Micromussa in the Fluval?

You will need to upgrade the Evo Lights to grow LPS in the Fluval. It only has around 60-80 par on the top middle section which can keep them alive but is not the best. I do have an EVO myself for my office. I actually changed the light out for a cheap Hygger light which surprisingly has a lot of par although I liked the Lid with the Evo to stop evaporation.

The IM 15 or possible even the IM 25 Lagoon 🤪 (my personal favorite) is the way to go though. There are a lot of IM used tanks on facebook marketplace where you can get a bargain if Money is a factor and I also find a lot of used equipment for reasonable prices all the time so that is an option as well.

Yeah that’s my likely purchase. I do think they have a really good product. I’m going to see if I can find a used light unless I find something decent on sale. Then it’s just heater/controller and cover for initial expense on the tank itself. As far as the sand and rock, I’ll see about GLR or TB . AquaForest salt. Look on Amazon for something to use as a stand.

Yeah love IM tanks. I was already leaning toward one. Just wanted a nudge I guess. This was the SR60 I had a couple years ago. Also had an Nuvo 30l and a 20l briefly.

Hey Steve, maybe consider the HelloReef? It comes with an AI Blade and Sicce return already. All you'd really need to add is a wavemaker and any controls you want.

I saw it. Just don’t think I can handle the initial cost hit. Plus I’m still thinking to see if the 20 or 25 would be viable in the space I have. But yeah it’s overall a good deal.

You against getting something used that's in very good shape?
