Euphilia Cutting/Mounting Question

I just purchased a black/purple torch and a unique looking frogspawn (I believe the guy at my LFS said it was an octopus frogspawn?). Anyway, the stems (not sure of the proper term) are pretty long (see pic). I have a couple spots picked out to mount them onto my rock near the bottom of my tank, but I'll need to do some trimming to make this happen. Is this ok? Will it hurt the coral? How much is safe to trim off? I also got a pink hammer last week that is mounted to a rock, so same questions for it. The more responses the better. Thanks in advance for the help.

You can cut them just don't cut the tissue

I wouldn't trim,maybe just mount.They can put out new shutes, on the stem.

I would mount them as I see them. Leave them alone.

Maybe stand it up in some pvc and let it acclimate before gluing it down. It might not like the spot you pic.

At most you can take a dremel and straighten the cut at the end. You will like the length as the coral grows out.
