I know they need moderate flow but random as possible? Or direct?
And can euphllyia sting each other ? Because I wanna add a different colored torch, hammer or frogspawn next to the torch I have now but don't know if they would sting each other.

Thanks, jack

never direct flow...really, in general for most fleshy LPS. Look at their skeletons. Large, sharp, exaggerated septa and septal teeth; any direct flow will be rather unnatural and tear them to pieces.

Thats not to say they like low flow though! Few corals do. Instead, here you want massive diffused flow. The convergence of stream style pumps in a large tank would be great here.

As for aggression, stonies aren't like softies or algae where they can dstroy each other easily without even touching (chemical allelopathy). Stonies are mostly straightforward; don't let them touch and give them good water quality and they'll be OK.

Now, you have to give them space to grow. Also they can put out sweeper tentacles soundly 10" long. So you really cant honestly stock too many of these in a typical home sized aquarium if you will fairly give them space to grow. I saw a fifteen year old Hammer that filled a 120 all by itself, save for a small octo that was in its shadow).

Think "one per 20 galls" and you will be in the ballpark for the 3 year picture.

Remember to feed them a small bit of minced meats daily or have a very large fishload; these are hungry corals that need fed a lot for long term survival.

cheers :)

I have three different hammers and 2 frogspawns and a fluorescent green torch coral all on one 4" rock they are all coexisting well together and do not sting each other euphylias are one of the few you can do this with and they'll grow together and mak a great mixed display all mine 4-6 heads each and growing well as for flow agreed with above variable soft flow such as an area of under tow from a large powerhead or an area in your tank that looks still for the most part. I'll also note that I've seen frogspawns and torches in tanks with very high variable or I should say switching swaying current but in all to answer your question yes with euphylia you can plant them 3/4" apart at the head and there will be no aggression I'll try to grab a pic of my group tonight.

Awesome my rockscaping would allow me to do a couple in my tank soo yay!! Thank you and how do you feed yours? Would mysis be good?

I don't feed them unless they catch stuff that's in the tank but I've never been able to get them to take anything I put in the tank as far as I've been concerned they don't need food I have several that I've had frags of of my old colonies from 8-9 years ago and they've never been fed and they just keep growing and being happy soni don't try and fix it

Mine is about 20 inches away and below my vortech. Loves the flow, but also loves all the spectrum pellets that gets blown onto it.

Heads being the tentacle like things or it 7 branches? Sorry never had a euphillyia before yesterday

Basically branches but there can be more than 1 head on a branch.

Here is a closeup, my blueline angel is 3 inches.

I feed mine every week or so, small cut up squid tentacles, sometimes a little bit of table shrimp, also have a pair of domino damsales that host it

Brad-may I admire your frogspawn? Wow! I would like to throw in another question, from the first set of pics it looks like you have a monti cap, some branching sps and zoas in fairly close proximity (even appears to to be touching or close to the Monti cap). What has your experience been with the frogspawn putting out it's sweepers and attacking other corals?

Absolutely beautiful set up.

Ok threadjack in progress, apologies in advance!!! what kind of angels do you have? Lemonpeel by chance?
