I first started out with a 10g reef tank and it was a success. Euphyllia opened up a lot and ate. I upgraded to a 25g like 9 months ago and transferred the hammers. Those hammers and almost every other hammer I got don't open up fully. I am not blasting them with flow and they are in the bottom third of the tank. What's wrong?

Sounds like a light issue I usually have mine in the middle of the tank. They deffinitly like a good amount of flow too

Is your nitrate or phosphate high? What's your salinity?
My nitrate and phosphate are practically undetectable. Phosphate used to be above 1ppm in my 10g and my corals did fine and no algae issues. My salinity is 1.0255.

You need more nitrates and phosphates. they like a "dirty" tank. Try to get nitrates to 3-5 and phosphate to .03 for optimum health. Feed feed feed. I would also check that your lights are adequate for them. A par meter would help.

I feed a lot but don't get any readings. I use salifert for nitrate and phosphate so they're kind of hard to see any reading

I use salifert also, and you need to see those above numbers. I have to add additional No3 and Po4 to keep my numbers where they need to be.

I struggled until I figured this out.

I use brighwell for these additives.

I'll see if I can get them up
