Euro Bracing Eel Proof?

Would any width of euro bracing be considered reasonable eel proofing without also somehow covering the rest of the aquarium top (with netting or similar)? From what I understand they don’t typically jump from “open water” so much as worm their way up near the edges at filters and such.

The only escape proof tank for an eel is a completely covered one.
