Ever been in a deep sea sub?

I've actually thought off and on about this topic for a long while and I have firmly concluded that deep-sea adventures where I didn't get to drive the sub were not worth it to me. My bottom line; I'd rather be buried in sand on the beach myself before I'd pay to get jammed into a bathyscaph and sink to the bottom where it's dark with someone else at the helm.

But that's just me. If you really feel compelled to go deeper into the abyss than the majority of human beings have ever gone, and if that would bring you some kind of satisfaction I absolutely think you should do it!
I prefer to be snorkeling in the shallows, or diving on a wall if I want to see what's under the water.

I'm also naturally skeptical when they report "-1000' of depth." How would you know if they only took you to say -250' while you are peering out of a porthole into the surrounding darkness, or with the vessels headlights obscuring the natural light?
I think I would save my money and take the submarine ride at Disneyland (if they still have the submarine ride at Disney?)
Anaheim si, Hondo no!
Hth.
