Hey people! So I’m still new to the hobby, I’ve gotten my Evo up and running for about 4 months now, water parameters are all amazing, added 2 clowns, assorted CUC, went through the algae blooms and everything is okay now. I’ve upgraded the lighting to the new Prime HD 16, downloaded the David Saxby schedule which was receiving good outcomes, after acclimation I added a small

, a small green kryptonite, and a small star polyp....they were very healthy and thriving, after a few weeks I’ve noticed they aren’t opening as well and I’m worried that the lighting schedule as great as it is may be too intense. My worries are that I only have 12 above the tank which limits my lights height over the tank. Has anyone had this problem and if so I’m looking for some feedback on it. I was thinking maybe just taking all the settings down 10 or 15% which I’ll probably do just to study the outcome.

IMO - you may have to much or too little intensity. The only way to know - test.

Sincerely Lasse
Yep. Only way to know is how the corals react or get a par meter.

That looks like a decent spread of a 13-my 10 is at 40s on blues and purples, 10 white 5 red green at peak. Although I don’t understand why people do all the little spikes throughout the day...

Great point about the par meter. Also the spikes are supposed to simulate cloud coverage from what I understand, something about naturally giving the tank a break from the lights during the day in small short intervals. The Aqua Illumination website has a “signature” page with customers who share their lighting schedules, I downloaded the David Saxby schedule on recommendation. That’s the schedule I’ve shown on the original the
Thread.

Hi Stevebo, do you have any updates? I have the same setup and a Prime being delivered.

I have the AI 16HD over a standard 10 gallon tank at 10 inches, running the Saxby program as I am I had to lower the intensity to a max of 60%. LPS, Acans, Ricordea and Zoas seem to like it.

Question for you. How do you lower intensity on the app without affecting spectrum?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
