Hi all.

After a gap of a few years I’m back with a fresh 2x2.

In the past I’ve had a 4x2x2 as well, but had to close things down due to work and housing.

Time and circumstances have allowed me to setup again, and happily most of the equipment is still ok some can reuse most of it.

The tank is a 2x2x2 with no overflow box, just 2 holes that return to the sump. Return is the same in reverse with a single pump with a Y connector . The tank was bought second hand.

Lighting is 2x XR15 gen3, probably overkill but I have them so can run them on a lower setting for less noise.

Sump is a simple one with only three sections, a large ATO chamber, section with a deltec 1455 skimmer and the return pump. The skimmer is way oversized but I have another hang on that I might be able to get running in case I can’t be tuned down.

Flow is being handled by a Gyre XF150, corner mounted with the top cage firing one way, the bottom at a 90 degree angle. Again, may be overkill but will see, and have a smaller one if it proves to be too much.

DD UV 22w and carbon reactor on hand for further down the line.

The tank is currently being cycled with bacteria ( seachem seed and microbacter7 ), lights off, whilst a new QT tank is being delivered. Am planning on taking things super slow this time, had 2 full tank wipeouts in the past from Ich thanks to tangs, thankfully this tank is too small for them so don’t need to worry.

Looking forward to sharing the journey.
