Hello reefing community!
I've been perusing this forum for a while and realized I never actually was registered.
I have a custom rimless 280 gal in my office lobby with a 40/50 gal sump in the basement and 60 gal auto top off unit. This one has been set up since beginning of March and just has a few chromis and pair of clowns for now.
At home, my 4 and 5 year old boys have a 15 gal fluval fresh water with some tetras to help them build some responsibility and care for life. They're doing well with upkeep on this (obviously I'm helping them but they're into it).
Have a small 2 gal freshwater shrimp tank with some plants in my kitchen that's pretty cool. Daughter couldn't keep up with a beta fish so i took it over with shrimp lol.
We also have a red sea reefer 350 (~90 gal) tank thats been setup for about 1 year. Just lost 90% of the fish to velvet about a month ago so medicated with polyp lab medic for 20 days and corals are doing GREAT in the meantime.
In the process of setting up 2 quarantine tanks as we speak, one 16 gal biocube to quarantine corals/inverts and one 32 gal biocube to quarantine fish before anything goes into either of the display tanks! Learned the hard way from above statement re: velvet.
Excited to contribute and continue learning about this amazing hobby! First order of business is finding a thread on quarantining inverts - salinity levels, how long to cycle it, etc...
Best,
Francesco
