What is your exercise of choice, and do you think it's important to choose something enjoyable in order to stick to a regular routine? What do you do to stay in shape?

I do think that finding something that you enjoy does help to keep a regular routine going. As for me as I have told other people my work is my exercise :D I work as a nurse aid and I am on my feet constantly moving for eight hours. During those eight hours I am lifiting and moving people, which is not always an easy task, constantly bending down and always on the run to get from one person to the next. I get cardio, strength and flexiablitly training 8 hours a day almost every day. I always get a funny look from my doctor when I explain this to her, but my work is a work out regiment in itself and the best thing I don't have to pay for a gym membership :D

^ That's awesome!! You definitely get your work out!!

Personally I alternate Les Mills Pump and Cardio. You have to find something you love to stick with it, preferably something fun.

I agree with BarbH. No fancy gym membership needed. I keep it simple. Takes me 15-20 minutes a day. All I do is as many pull ups, sit ups, dips, and push ups I can do and then I jump rope for 10 minutes. No resting in between. Short and sweet

push ups sit ups pull ups do some 300 pounds squats some curls bench press then 4 mile jog

it is important to do stuff you like but you still need to do stuff you dont for two reasons. first it challenges your body so you see better results. second it reminds you why you like doing the other exercises so you dont get burned out.

I like tennis! Your heart rate is continuously going up and down (when playing singles) and then I walk afterward. Bought some 2lb weights to carry as I walk. We'll see?!

Personally I have to go to the gym, its too hard to motivate yourself to do it at home long term for most people.
I hate working out LOL but you have to!

^ I couldn't agree more!! I never finish a program that I start at home!! The longest I've stuck to one was Insanity. David and I did it for about 6 wks, then we went on Spring Break and it was like, no way were we ever going to go back to that! Sooo hard!!

Absolutely have to do something you enjoy to stick to it long term. Which usually ends up being some sort of cardio activity. Then you got to throw strength in 2-3 days to mix it up. I hate gyms. Pretty much anything outside, mtn biking, snowboarding, xcountry skiing, hiking. For strength I use strength moves instead of weights, like lunges or monkey jumps. Cuz you can do those outside too ;)

^ You are one strong fella!!

I have no need to exercise, I'm already in shape - round.
I should quit eating so much and exercise more but everyone hates a quitter.

Bball all the way for Me... I'll rather run around the basketball court than the thread mill. Annette loves volleyball and the thread mill. But yes it had to be something you love doing. I would hate to do something just to exercise.. I remember when I broke my hand and couldn't play ball... I hated going to the gym just to run on the thread mill to keep I'm shape.
