Hi all,

We are so passionate about reefing that we always explore ways to add more fishes.
I have a 50g with:
- 2 clownfishs (couple)
- 2 mandarin dragon (couple)
- 4 damsel fish from 2 species
Can I add more fish to that ? I am technically around 11" of fish.
I have CUC, 2 softies, some macroalgae and mangrove pods still growing.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately a lot goes into that answer. What kind of filtration are you running? What species of damsels and clowns? What does the aquascape look like? You not only have to look at whether the system can support additional livestock, but also be very careful in what you were to pick based on the fish that are already in place. You have quite a few very territorial, potentially aggressive fish.

The inches per gallon doesn't work, it never did. I would say you might have room for 1 or 2 more fish, but I agree with above. Those damsels will make it challenging for any new addition. Rockwork and filtration is also very important in determining how many fish you can have.

  • No. I don't measure PAR and my corals are still healthy/growing.
