Long story short my LFS I’ve been going to for years sold me this clown that I told them I would get because it has been in there for like 3 or 4 months now and no one will buy it. I don’t know if it’s genetic or a disease? I would think not a disease as they haven’t had to treat it and others have been fine. I’m also a little disappointed though that a store I’ve been supporting nearly weekly knowing I’m paying double treated me like I’m an idiot. Think I’m done with them. First of all the girl asked me if I knew this fish was salt water. Someone who has overheard my conversations with the owners mother as I’ve joked about setting up a tank just for this fish. Then she didn’t know anything about corals when I was asking her about some stuff they had. She also asked the owner if this was a “fancy clownfish” and they charged me full price for this fish they cannot sell. I wasn’t expecting a discount and I’ve never asked for one but $110 for this fish just seems a little crazy. Let me know what you guys think because I’m concerned about the fish and I’m hurt my LFS has insulted me time and time again treating me like I’m stupid. The owners mother is great and is usually who I deal with but the employees and the owner himself are absolutely rude.

Its obvious this clown had the daylights beat out of him, fins and tail chewed and managed to survive. If eating and swimming normal, , it is what it is as purchased but if not, I would return it

He has no injuries I think maybe the photos aren’t the best. His fins are black / translucent so it’s kind of hard to see. He has no injuries at all. His head almost looks like a Jaw fish though. Thinking it’s all genetic. He just struggles a bit to swim.

Tough to see under blue lights, but this clown does seem to have some genetic aberrations. Some people cull fish like that, others embrace their weirdness (like pug dogs).

My guess is it that doesn’t have any acute disease based on how long the store had it.

Can you send some pictures with white light - I cannot see anything. If it is a swimming issue a video would be helpful (also under white light) - I'm curious - what problems did it show in the store (if any), why are you paying double? and what is different since you brought him home?
