Fang Blennies

Hi, I'm thinking about keeping a fang blenny, and need some input about them. In the past I have had a starry blenny and a midas blenny. Both ended up being butheads that liked to pick on other fish, even bigger fish than they were. Do the fang bennies have the same desire to pester others, and how poisonous are they? Do they tend to bite fingers when they are in the tank for maintenance? What happens if you get bit? I have a purple tang, anthias, and wrasse currently in my tank.

My fang blenny never bothers other fish, and never tries to bite me, i dont believe their venom is much stronger than that of a bee, and is only used for defence

I have an ORA kamohara blenny that is a model citizen. Just carries on doing his own thing. Goes to his den when I’m working in the tank and hasn’t bitten anything.

I’ve kept multiple fang blennies in the same tank, and never had any aggression problems. I’ve read that they use their venomous bite after they have been eaten by a larger fish to cause nausea, not pain. This causes the fish to throw them up. Anyway I’ve had canary blennies, smith’s blennies, stripped blennies all at the same timeand They leave each other alone. They differ from other blennies in that they don’t perch, they constantly swim out in the open water. Sadly they live short lives, about three years is all that you should expect to get from them.

Fang blennies are great fish. I dont understand why they are not more popular than they are.

150 gallons. I forgot to mention one of the stranger habits of the fish, they like to sleep wedged flat into the corners of tank. You can watch them sleep every night they go to the same spots. even Though I have lots of rock in my aquarium, I rarely see them go into it for any reason. They are always out in the open.
