Should I put my Davis and chalice on their own 2in circular drag plate so they can grow larger on the sand bed? Right now they are just in the regular small drag plug, and are starting to overgrow it.

I want to make sure the favia doesnt sting anything, so I want it to be separate.

Also, plan is for my scan to be glued on a rock on the lower level of a slant (torch garden is on higher level of slant). Thoughts??

I have no luck with chalice, but acan and favia look nice when placed on a rock and allowed to grow into the dome shape. just something to consider.

Do you have photos? Trying to get a visualization in my head

Does the favia really need to be 4in away from other corals so it doesn’t sting it at night? By rock, do you mean any size rock, or does it need to be the circumference of how large it’ll expand?

I’ll post a photo later today, don’t have one readily accessible

My favia has 2" stingers, but it grows quickly. you have to try to visualize 2 years from now. Almost every coral in my tank has a 6"-8" circumference, all starting with a single frag. Some years ago I had to replace several rocks and corals because everything was growing into each other and killing each other.

Definitely put them on either a larger frag disc or piece of small live rock. All the corals you mentioned do have sweepers that can be a couple inches long so definitely give them their space. Some favia can grow pretty quickly and take over whole rock so corals like that are good for small islands on the sand bed

Favia sweepers can run anywhere from 2 to 6 inches, and they mostly come out after lights-out, so the number you'll actually want depends on how much room you can spare. I'd give it 4–6" of open space on all sides and then watch it the first few weeks at night to see how far the stingers reach.

These are the photos from my tank. Thinking of putting the scan on the left on that downward slant below the torches. Zoas will go on the front two right rocks. Not sure where to put the chalice and especially the favia….i bought 3in frag discs to put them on. This is my first tank. Would love input on placement. Thanks guys.
