I took a $15 lux meter and put all of it in a clear sandwich bag and submerged it that way to get a lix reading underwater. Not very accurate but gives a round about number.

Awesome!! So photos you were able to fixate on a certain object with no issue?
You will need a remote to snap the pics
The "box" version they make for "our hobby" turned out to be more of a grow light. Meaning more red and pink spectrum. I wouldn't try it.Have any of you tried DSunY black boxes?

Actually thats the good one. There is a more box style that I was talkin about. There is a memeber here that has the one that you have and they love it. Can't remember who?Someone is offering me this one:
I haven't been able to find any specs about it other than it is 36" long, 120w, full spectrum, programmable, it is controlled by a box using Turing-2.1 (whatever that means). In theory it is for reef tanks... I even have an invoice from the person who bought it and it does not have a model name or number!
OK, here is some pics, not good, but they are pics, different tanks. The purple one is dsuny, the blue is mars aqua. The dsuny is the 12" unit. You can see, very purple and blue & red same channel
