Hi all, I just picked up a feather duster and when I was cleaning the LFS sand off of its tail (lack of a better word) when I pulled three small worms off of it. Any suggestions on how to "clean" this guy?

Someone needs to make an invert dip :)

Also, does anyone know if the "Tail" is actually part of the duster worm itself? for a second there I was thinking of cutting it off.

Will be hard to assess and determine without pics under white lighting. feather dusters have a tube they live in often representing a rope covered in mud

Any idea how I can make sure there are no more hitchhikers? My hitchhiker ID sucks but there were three red worms that I pulled off of him. I don't even want to put the duster into my invert/coral QT tank at this moment for fear that I will introduce problems.

Without pics of worms, I can guess they were likely detritus worms

Nooooo!!! Don’t cut the end off !!!
Lol - no I won't - it was just a quick thought :)

I just spent the half-hour picking the sand off of him and I did not see any more worms so I have placed him in my invert/coral QT tank.

that's what I did. fingers crossed. but not long after I put him in my tank.. he moved up and brought his tail out a tiny split I had made by accident picking lgs sand off... well.. then that end finally was just dangling in the flow so I pulled and it was attached to him and he was attached to a rock... so I cut it. all well that ends well
