Feather duster on wall hammer

My wall hammer not fully open and i found out there is feather duster grow on its skeleton. Should i remove it?

If you do try to remove it, be very careful, if you damage one piece of the hammer the whole colony could die off, they are very very delicate.

It's unlikely to do any harm to the hammer, I wouldn't worry about it.
